In 2017, Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it became the most-streamed song in just the space of six months. The track is a mixture of reggaeton, pop and rock was not only a way to bring renewed interest to reggaeton but it was also an attraction towards Latin music in general. In 2015 there were two mostly Spanish-language songs on Billboard's Top 100 and in 2016 there were four. In 2017, during the peak of Despacito's fame 19, 19 tracks mostly Spanish have made it into the Billboard Top 100. In 2020 the number will increase to 41 tracks in this category. Justin Bieber's bilingual remake of Despacito was released in 2017. In the following year, a number of popular artists began working with reggaeton performers. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) as well as Madonna worked with Maluma in Medellin. By 2020 a few reggaeton artists were expressing displeasure at that the genre was moving towards mainstream, but a new generation specifically Rauw Alejandro was determined to ensure that reggaeton was evolving. He often incorporated elements from electronic dance music and other types.
