Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, was raised in Wellington) is an Canadian actress. She was born in Winnipeg and born in Wellington Paquin began her acting debut portraying Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress aged 11 years old, and was the 2nd youngest recipient to win an award within Oscar history. After she responded to an open call for auditions to play the character, she got it as Flora McGrath, the daughter of a mute Scottish pianist who relocates to New Zealand in mid-19th-century to get married. It was her first role at the age of nine, and she had no acting experience. When she moved in the United States, she became an adult. Paquin had the role of lead in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and also had a small part in the film as Jane Eyre as still a toddler. Paquin appeared as Frankie Addams, a character from Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997, she played the queen of Spain in a smaller part. She played teenagers as part of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and played in the role of polexia Aphrodisa groupie in Almost Famous (2000).
